Enteroctopus is an octopus genus, many of whose members are sometimes known as giant octopuses. However, one member of this genus is extremely small in size.
- Genus Enteroctopus
- North Pacific Giant Octopus, Enteroctopus dofleini
- Enteroctopus juttingi *
- Southern Giant Octopus, Enteroctopus magnificus
- Enteroctopus megalocyathus
- Enteroctopus membranaceus
- Enteroctopus zealandicus
Giant octopuses are found in cooler waters than their tropical cousins. They feed on mainly fish, bivalves, and crustaceans.
Scientific classification or biological classification is a method by which biologists group and categorize species of organisms. Scientific classification also can be called scientific taxonomy, but should be distinguished from folk taxonomy, which lacks scientific basis.
