TYR Sports, Inc. is a manufacturer of competitive swimwear and goggles, founded in 1985 and based in California. Contrary to popular belief, its name is not an acronym. Rather, the company is named after the Tyr (pronounced tier) from Norse mythology. The company makes products for swimming, diving, water polo, and multi-sport.

TYR's brands of hi-technology fabric swimwear are the Aqua Shift, Aquapel, and Fusion 2 which it claims will reduce drag.

TYR Sports is a subsidiary of Swimwear Anywhere, the second-largest swimwear manufacturer in the United States. [1]. Its chief competitors for market share are Speedo, the largest swimwear manufacturer in the U.S., AgonSwim and Nike, the sporting goods manufacturer which has a swimwear line.
