The Orgasm is a cocktail that can be either served on the rocks or layered and drunk as a shooter. The Orgasm got its name from the feeling commonly associated with slamming the drink as fast as possible. It made its debut in Boca Raton Florida at the Flying Moose Saloon. A female customer requested an unusual drink one night, and the bartender made her, in a seduction attempt, what would later be called an Orgasm. His stunt worked and to this day we still have the Orgasm, which is still most popular in Florida, but is also seen to a lesser extent in the rest of the world. It is an IBA official cocktail.

There are many other versions of this popular mixed drink. One of those forms is remembered by being made on your B.A.C.K., or made with Bailey's, Amaretto, half and half, and Kahlua, with each ingredient having a one part measure. Another variation differs in that it uses an actual liquor (vodka) instead of all liqueurs/cordials (flavor infused spirits). It contains Vodka, Amaretto, Triple Sec, which is an orange flavored liqueur much like Grand Marnier and Cointreau, White Creme de Cacao, and Light Cream. The light cream has a 1 oz. contribution while the other ingredients have a 1/2 oz contribution to this drink. Cocktail recipes change over time with the addition and/or subtraction of their ingredients.
