Information about Lumiere Hd

Lumiere HD was the first solution to offer HDV editing in QuickTime based Non Linear Editing systems on the Mac platform such as Final Cut Pro.

It works by ingesting the transport stream directly from the HDV camera or deck, demultiplexing that stream into 2 files MPEG-2 Program Stream (m2v) and Audio (Aif).

Once the files are QuickTime friendly, Lumiere HD allows for batch encode of these files to any QuickTime codec the user desires. It will then facilitate the import into Final Cut Pro using XML by merging the audio and video into one visible clip in the browser.

Thanks to the power of XML, Lumiere HD will allow to rebuild the edited timeline to the source m2v and aif files in 3 clicks. Making it an ideal offline/online workflow

Once the edit is done, Lumiere HD also allows for encoding back to HDV to send back to the HDV camera or deck in full HDV quality.

Lumiere HD supports all HDV cameras and decks including the latest ProHD from JVC in 24p.

The company was started by editors and technologists who needed the solution for themselves. It has been showcased by JVC and Sony at major tradeshows such as NAB.
