The Los Angeles Downtown News is a free weekly newspaper in Los Angeles, California, serving the Downtown Los Angeles area. While breezy and somewhat boosterish in tone, it provides invaluable coverage of the ongoing changes Downtown is experiencing, and often has insightful interviews with newsmakers. Also from time to time it has run first-rate news stories that in some cases even scoop the Los Angeles Times.

Founded in 1972, it publishes 49,000 copies every Monday and is distributed to Downtown Los Angeles, Wilshire Center, Pasadena, Glendale, Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silver Lake and Larchmont Village. [8]
