Kotono Mitsuishi (三石 琴乃 Mitsuishi Kotono) (born December 8, 1967) is a prolific Japanese seiyū (voice actress) from Tokyo. As a young girl, Mitsuishi lived in Nagareyama, Chiba. Mitsuishi graduated from high school in 1986, and entered the Katsuta Seiyū Academy. While attending the academy, she began working part time as an elevator girl in the Sunshine 60 building. Afterward, she found a position as an office lady, but because of taking too much time off, she was forced to quit.
In 1989, Mitsuishi made her seiyū debut as Tomoyo in the OVA Ace o Nerae! Final Stage. She became an instant celebrity with her role as Usagi Tsukino when Sailor Moon debuted in 1992, and her popularity increased again with her role as Misato Katsuragi in the anime TV series Neon Genesis Evangelion. She is considered one of the most influential seiyū in the business; the animated adaptation of Ebichu was largely produced because of her interest in the project.
Mitsuishi is married and has one daughter. In a digression to her OL days, she rides a Yamaha FZ250 Phaser motorcycle. Mitsuishi works at the talent management firm Arts Vision.

Trivia
- In mecha anime, the characters she voices are often officers (Misato Katsuragi in Evangelion, Murrue Ramius in Gundam Seed, and Vega in Gear Fighter DENDOH).
- Coincidentally, both Murrue and Misato were to work together in the video game Super Robot Wars Alpha 3 as well as Super Robot Wars J. As an insider joke, the two ladies have an odd feeling that they knew each other .
- She has worked alongside Houko Kuwashima whereby they voiced partners who act as foils to each other:
- In Gundam SEED, with Mitsuishi as Murrue Ramius and Kuwashima as Natarle Badgiruel
- In Noir, with Kuwashima as Kirika Yuumura and Mitsuishi as Mireille Bouquet
- In Claymore, with Kuwashima as Clare and Mitsuishi as Jean
- Coincidentally, both ladies had voiced the same character before, under different circumstances: Satsuki Yatōji from X (Mitsuishi was Satsuki's voice in the movie version while Kuwashima voiced Satsuki in the anime version.) Also, both ladies appeared in three anime series in a row on the Saturday 6 p.m. timeslot on MBS and TBS, starting from Gundam Seed, to Fullmetal Alchemist and to Gundam Seed Destiny.
- She is the only voice actress in the original anime version of Sailor Moon who does not voice her character during the entire series. During production of episodes 44-50, which covered the last episodes of Sailor Moon and the first episodes of Sailor Moon R, Mitsuishi had her appendix removed and Kae Araki was her stand-in.
