Jason Ritter (born February 17, 1980) is an American actor, son of the late actor John Ritter and Nancy Morgan.

Biography

Born Jason Morgan Ritter in Los Angeles, California to John Ritter and his wife Nancy Morgan, grandson of Musician/Actor Tex Ritter and his wife Dorothy Fay Southworth, great-grandson of James Everett Ritter and Martha Elizabeth Matthews; step-son of Amy Yasbeck, nephew of Thomas "Tom" Ritter, brother of Carly Ritter, Tyler Ritter, & half-brother of Stella Ritter. Jason first made his debut The Dreamer of Oz, after 9 years starring in his first TV series Days of Our Lives playing the character "Todd" in unknown episodes. 3 years after starring in the movie PG (2002); 1 year later starring in Swinf@an as the US title.

In 2003, Jason then starred in the Slasher/Horror film Freddy vs. Jason playing "Will Rollins", & then following Raise Your Voice; his movie Happy Endings was premoted.

Education

Ritter is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where he studied at the Atlantic Theatre Company. He also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

Among his theater credits are Wendy Wasserstein's Third at Lincoln Center, for which he won the Clarence Derwent Award and the Martin E. Segal Award for his portrayal of the title character; the off-Broadway production of The Beginning of August, and the role of Tim in the world premiere of Neil LaBute's play The Distance From Here at London's Almeida Theatre.

Ritter has volunteered as an actor with the Young Storytellers Program.
