Information about Imamzadeh
Tomb of Sultan Mutahhar, near Roudehen. The current structure was built in the 15th century and contains the tomb of the murdered son of Jafar as Sadiq.
The word is also used to refer to a shrine that is specific to Shi'a Islam and in which the Imamzadeh is buried.
These are honored in respect of the Shia Imams, who are venerated in popular Shia tradition.
These shrines attract many visitors and pilgrims for Ziyarat, and are scattered in many numbers throughout the Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
They usually exhibit exquisite architecture and craftsmanship in their interiors.
