Hainosaurus is an extinct genus of marine lizard belonging to the mosasaur family. It was one of the largest mosasaurs, reaching lengths of about 18 m (60 ft) which made it the top predator of the Late Cretaceous seas. These animals may have preyed on turtles, mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, prerosaurs, and some types of dinosaur.

In Popular Culture

A giant mosasaur appeared in the BBC series Sea Monsters, a spin-off to the successful Walking with Dinosaurs. Various sources identify the creature as either Hainosaurus or the equally huge Tylosaurus.
