Information about Brooke Valentine
Brooke Valentine (born October 5, 1984 in Houston, Texas), is an American R&B singer-songwriter. She started her musical career as a member of the female group Best Kept Secret. To pursue a solo career, she moved to Los Angeles, California and signed to Subliminal Entertainment/Virgin Records. She released her debut album Chain Letter in March of 2005. It sold 340,000 copies in the US. The album features her hit debut single, "Girlfight" released late 2004, in a collaboration with rappers Big Boi and Lil Jon, a song about tension between two girls which ends up in a catfight.
The first single from her second album Physical Education was "D-Girl" ("Dope Girl") which charted even lower than her previous single efforts. The second single, "Pimped Out" was released in November '06 and went nowhere, becoming another very unsuccessful single for Valentine. The album has been delayed several times and the current release date has not been announced.
On August 10th,2007 Brooke Valentine Has Confirmed that she will be releasing a totally new album with statement " However I just had to login and straighten up a false rumor that I was dropped from my label LOL! 1st off the label that I am signed to is SUBLIMINAL ENTERTAINMENT which was distributed by Virgin Records and Virgin was responsible for marketing and promoting my records... News Flash: I am still signed to Subliminal I've been fighting for a release from Virgin for a long time! and it's no secret that they suck!
The reason my album wasn't released was because we refused to turn the album in to Virgin Records knowing that they would just drop the ball just like they did Janet's album and every other album they released:(
Now after all this time God answered my prayers. I wanted to tell yall sooner but, I couldn't speak on it because of legal mumbo jumbo... it didn't come cheap but, it was well worth it in the end. It was so sweet that some of you felt sorry for me but, please don't because I couldn't be more excited with my new situation and it's a true blessing to finally be free! "
