.gal is a proposed top-level domain for sites from Galicia, or related to this Spanish nationality. The campaign was initiated following the successful introduction of .cat for the Catalan-speaking community. The .cat domain is officially reserved for those websites which "highlight Catalan language and culture". Several companies and institutions are involved in this campaign, including the autonomous government, Xunta de Galicia.
