Despite the fact that shark pictures are a recent gift from today's technology that does not only allow experts to study them but also the public to appreciate them in every sense. What is the link between shark pictures and history? Let’s find out!
Many people have reason to believe that Time does not exist and will simply not accept it just because these are considered "generally accepted truths." In fact this is exactly how the conversation started at our Online Think Tank recently. Indeed this is wise thinking and it is amazing what people can be led to believe by mass media hysteria or often culture or educational indoctrination.
Imagine! You are lying on the beach with your family. It is a hot summer day and everyone is having fun splashing in the cool water, everyone but you that is. Why? It is because of your fear of sharks!
United Nations Conference on Climate Change is the largest intergovernmental conference on climate control that was ever held throughout the history of humanity. United Nations Conference had many accomplishments that reshaped international programs on climate change.
Like any member of the Animal Kingdom as well as humans, each body part or organ of the shark anatomy has its own characteristics. Let's find out more about the way the body of a shark actually works.
Thanks to the movie "Jaws", sharks ended up with a bad reputation as man-eaters which could not be further from the truth. Let’s study some of these virtually harmless types of sharks.
There are many reasons why you might want to get a DNA test. Although we often see DNA testing used in TV forensics shows, one of the top reasons for getting a DNA test is to determine paternity. DNA paternity testing conclusively determines if a man is the father of a particular child.
Since the Internet made its appearance using the World Wide Web networking system in the early 1990's; a lot of sites entered the Information Superhighway by either being educational, commercial or related to entertainment. That is why you can find a huge selection of shark pictures of all types.
In the movie: "Jaws", both Peter Benchley and Steven Spielberg made the famous great white shark not only a cold blooded killer but also a dangerous stalker. Are sharks really stalking humans or not?
This article looks into what we know today about the structure and interactions inside the nucleus of an atom. This is the third in a series of articles exploring the structure, concepts and history of the atom.
As years go by, experts have been learning more about sharks. One thing they have discovered is the used of the shark anatomy in more than culinary delicacies such as shark fin soup.
As the amount of shark attack victims is rising nowadays, the need to take preventive measures is a must. While over the years various safety tips were given to people, some were based on facts but others were not.
The chemical properties of a substance (in other words what other atoms will it bond with, if it is liquid at room temperature, if it is flammable, and so on) are essentially decided by the electrons on the outermost energy level of the atom. As we described in part one of this series, the electrons surrounding the atom cannot just have any energy, but instead group into separate energy levels; the electrons on the outermost energy level tend to be further away from the nucleus and less tightly connected to it. Thus the outermost electrons will be the first to escape from the atom if the atom comes in contact with a strong enough external force.
The first cartilaginous sharks appeared 370 millions years ago. Their size, their appearance and their fossilized remains tell us an amazing story, the sharks’ history! What types of sharks lived millions of years ago? Well, here are a few facts about them.
Selection in itself is neutral while positive selection implies that the selection results into a divergence among species. Studies all mention the involvement of positive selection on the gene implication. Positive selection is the core of Darwinian theories of evolution and is the simplest way of explaining the retention of mutations in organisms that allow them to become competitive in the environments they exist in. However, more recent researches have also have shown that though positive selection remains a core principle in understanding evolution of organisms, the action of positive selection in the body systems, particularly those of the nervous system is not directly conclusive to the changes in nucleic changes that have been observed in genomes.
Sharks have influenced both cinematography and its memorabilia through the years. From Jaws the movie to shark mugs representing the same jaws that terrified swimmers since 1975, the various articles that are related to sharks is dizzying at times.
Stigmaria are petrified rocks and I have some with art on them from West Virginia along with other rocks made to look like animals that have never been in the Americas - like lions. People have been coming to the Americas since long before white men existed and Topper is not that far from West Virginia. But are these artifacts from 50,000 years ago or the Figuig in the fourth Century AD. Perhaps they correlate to the Bat Creek Nine and the excellent work of Cyrus Gordon the eminent linguist?
Termites are sometimes referred to as ‘white ants’, but they are not ants and are not related to them. They are most abundant in tropical and sub-tropical countries where, in some cases, their ‘nests give rise to large, prominent mounds. All termites form extensive colonies with one egg-laying queen and hundreds or thousands of workers. The workers are nymphs whose development to reproductive adults is suppressed. Most of them carry out duties in the nest, feeding the queen and the young, nest building and collecting food but some workers develop into ‘soldiers’ with large heads and long jaws. Their job is to defend the nest from intruders.
Locusts are a group of grasshoppers which periodically form dense swarms and cause extensive damage to crops. Locusts live in warm countries such as Africa and India. The locust develops by a process called incomplete metamorphosis, i.e. there is no larval or pupal stage. The eggs hatch into nymphs which resemble the adult insect but they have no wings. In order to grow, the nymphs have to shed their ‘skins’ (cuticles) and expand their bodies before the new cuticle hardens. At each moult, the wings grow a little larger until the final moult reveals the fully formed winged adult which can fly to a new location.
