How can anyone agree as science is at odds over their findings, funding and results? Well as the operator of a Non-Partisan Think Tank you can imagine the accusations flying in cyberspace amongst the Politically Motivated Think Tanks, and you just have to duck when you get caught in the crossfire.As the minds whiz into action in our Online Think Tank often we are amazed at what can be accomplished although many wish to come in and set standards, rules and limits on conversations and thoughts. Yet in doing this, the project turns into a committee and not an actual Online Think Tank. It is always the lawyer type coming in and setting definitions and concerned about time spent and things achieved in the Think Tank.If you have a good concept then you need some help pushing this idea into the innovation winner’s circle and that is not as easy as it sounds. Do All Good Concepts Need Strong Spokesmen? Of course Good Ideas need spokesmen and someone with enough strength of character to say; "Damn the Torpedoes" and I guess I ought to know that.Recently, my friend Ed asked, "Are 'truths,' energy sources? Or is the expression of truth the medium for releasing energy?" My answer?According to most dictionaries Rhetoric is the art of using the language and directing language skills in oral or written communication. To be well understood a person has to effectively communicate taking into account the listener’s background and abilities to perceive. Study of rhetoric is goaled to develop communication abilities as language has become one of the most important inventions of mankind. Through communication abilities people pass knowledge to each other. Do you think that things in life are ultimately meaningless? We fight to stay alive, fight to earn things, fight for whatever reason, until we finally die. And because we have no idea what lies beyond death, doesn't it make all that fighting to survive and be happy-just-meaningless? Or is there a method to all of this madness?I somehow find serious people often have their hearts almost closed to humour and are, therefore, in a way, quite pitiable. Once, during the course of a discussion about how some people have this repelling quality about their very presence, I quoted a witty remark from someone I had heard or picked up, and in line with the topic of the discussion saying, "Yes sir, there are people who cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go."
I am a Hindu. I am sitting in my own little well, and thinking that the world is my well, and croak, "Turn him out." The Christian sits in his little well and the world is his well. "Turn him out." The Mohammedan sits in his well and thinks the world like that. "Turn him out."The French philosopher Rene Descartes' search for an oasis of faith through the desert of doubt began with Cogito, ergo sum. I think therefore I am. "My very doubt proves my existence". Otherwise who will be the doubter? Doubt, in itself cannot exist.And so skepticism leads to one certainty. I am.
Many folks want so much to get along with everyone, they care so much about agreeing with other people. They want people to like them and the love to reach and accord or agreement; it makes them feel good. Physically good, joyful and happy; Wow, that is excellent indeed. Yet so often we must agree to disagree in life, because we cannot reach proper terms.We all know that our minds thing, act and re-act based on our perceptions, input, stimuli and memory. All that we believe makes up the Individual or "I", is merely an accumulation of our experiences, observations, knowledge and genetic encoding or innate characteristic displacement.Where do thoughts come from? Ah ha, Philosophy 101, you say? Well, I guess you have already pondered all this. Indeed many of us have and it is still amazing that folks still ask the question for which they cannot know the answer rather only speculate.Running and operating an Online Think Tank is a way out endeavor and you just never know what subjects, topics, technologies or concepts will come up next. While debating topics of interest one participant noted that men and women enjoy the intellectual conversations differently.Some believe that what you do with the thoughts that enter your mind will depend on your genetic displacement or DNA. Additionally, these people will say that your past, social conditioning will also have a huge impact on what you do with the thoughts, which enter your mind. In fact they will say that neither of these are under your control and thus you are not in control of your own thoughts or how you act in relation to those thoughts.Are humans basically organic human programs? For instance or DNA code has us replicate and reproduce? Are human thoughts really those of the individual or are they pre-programmed or come from somewhere else? Recently this topic came up in an Online Think Tank and one member asked the question of another; I assume you dismiss the concept that human thoughts are controlled by the Universe or some other system?Often The Online Think Tank ponders many philosophical ideas and concepts and of course such a think tank does not condemn interesting thoughts nor does it make any subjects off limits. Recently, a young Think Tank Participant made the comment that human thoughts cannot be controlled. In fact this person went on to say that once you allow or become aware of an unpleasant or negative thought it is impossible to prevent similar thoughts from entering your mind.
