When you list your property through a real estatecompany, the individual with whom you list is known asthe sellers agent, or listing agent. The very firstthing that a listing agent has to offer a seller is acomparative market analysis, or, a CMA. A CMA comparesyour property to other real estate property listings, preferably ones that have sold. The goal of the agentis to compare apples to apples. In other words, theycompare MLS listings (a.k.a the multiple listingservice) with similar square footage, whether or notthe property has a garage, the types of flooring thehome has etc. In the end of this analysis, the agentprovides you with a figure for which he or she feelsthat your property will sell.
