l. Banish all doubt. Watch teams that near the playoffs or bowl games. There is a confidence associated with winners. It comes from absolutely believing in yourself and your team.
2. Be willing to do whatever it takes to succeed (win). The successful person does what others don't want to do. How often have you heard of pro athletes spending hours on the gridiron, court or course? Professionals prepare and practice so that when the opportunity arises, they are prepared for it.
3. Refuse to lose (fail). It's not an option. Eliminate that possibility from your thoughts. If they creep in, switch thoughts. Want to know how powerful your thoughts are? Imagine biting into half a lemon. Did your mouth water? That was your brain, not the lemon!
4. Surround yourself with people who support and believe in you. When the Seattle Mariners won 119 games in 2001, signs all around the city said, "Refuse to Lose."
5. Build a team that shares your vision--and communicate that vision often and well to them. There are many teams whose vision was to "get to the playoffs." These teams are sitting home. You must affirm and envision WINNING the playoffs and Superbowl!
6. Really understand that everyone wants to be associated with a winner--and then let it happen! People will be attracted to your energy and may not even know why--when they show up, bill 'em!
7. Enthusiasm--enjoy what you do so much that it's not "work" One of the most famous picutres in Seattle is of the pileup at home plate when Seattle beat the Yankees in the 5th game of a playoff series in 1995. Seattleites remember the feelings of that win and love to re-feel them. Remember excited or enthusiastic feelings you've had about your business. When your energy wanes--and it will--remember the feelings. That will change your emotional state and give you energy.
