Choosing a name for your pet can be the most hardest part to think of since it’s to be known for the rest of your life with your furry or feathery friend. Plus it can also be the last thing you think of as you spend huge amounts of time researching about your chosen pet.
You might want to pick a name based on the colours of the animal, e.g. “Patchy” for a guinea pig because it has loads different colour patch textures. Or you might also want to base it on its personality or just something out of ordinary. Sometimes the animal will pick the name for you because it could react to a certain name. Using the web can help a lot and also having other people’s view can too. There are many free name generators out there for your pet and suggestions.
The way I pick out a pet name goes by the questions I put down, it might help you…
1) Is it a male or female or unknown? 2) What are the pet’s colours and mutation 3) Is there any particular feature that is distinguished on the pet? 4) What is your favourite letter? 5) What is the first thing that comes into your head while look at your pet other than the pet named (like dog).
By asking you those kinds of simple questions you could generate many names. It’s also best to write a few down and come back to it another day just in case you have a different view on it. But remember if you do pick a name try and remember it, stick to it and try not to confuse your pet.
