Using an autoresponder, sometimes referred to as an automatic responder, can bring a lot of repeat traffic to your site, and traffic usually translates into profit. The neat thing about an automatic email responder is that you are bringing back traffic that you already had. This means if a visitor did not make a purchase the first time they came your site, you have another opportunity to sell to them.
Another benefit of an autoresponder is that the traffic you get from those on your list are targeted visitor. They obviously have an interest in your information so this means that they are hot leads. Hot leads are much easier to sell to.
Many people look for a free autoresponder solution but let me emphasize that these do not work. You will loose your leads and ultimately you will loose money. Why? Because emails from these free autoresponder services end up in people's spam folders. A lot of those free services are marked as spam by most email and ISP services.
However, pay autoresponder services have worked out a deal with the major email provides to ensure that emails and newsletters from their service to not go into the spam folder. Can you see how a free autoresponder service can be dangerous? Why risk it?
So what you want to do is either purchase your own software for a one-time fee or sign up with a reputable service with a monthly fee. You then get the code you need and you just copy it and paste it into your web page. You need to give your visitors a good reason to sign up for your newsletter, usually in the form or some incentive, and you will slowly build up a nice list.
Obviously paying for your own software once is a much better idea.
Now when your autoresponder sends your subscribers your newsletter you include your affiliate links and a link back to your web page. There will be those who will not make a purchase the first few times you contact them, but as you keep sending them tips and valuable information in your newsletter, they will over time come to trust you and may at some point make a purchase.
An autoresponder is a great tool. Remember, though, free autoresponders are a waste of time. When you are ready to move your business to the next level you need to spend the money and get one.
