Where do thoughts come from? Ah ha, Philosophy 101, you say? Well, I guess you have already pondered all this. Indeed many of us have and it is still amazing that folks still ask the question for which they cannot know the answer rather only speculate.
Not long ago our Online Think Tank re-visited this notion of where do thoughts come from? How do you know your thoughts are personal and what proof do you have other than your perceptions? Well like many, I have not said my thoughts were personal, they most likely are, but the important thing is that a good many of them are original.
Some would say that thoughts come from the collective mind, yet cannot produce proof such a thing exists, even if many feel as if it does. I only ask that since I operate an Online Think Tank; perhaps folks might join me by turning their minds back on and using them to think with?
And I suppose we can get into the whole Kant thing and discuss Eastern and Western Philosophy if you wish. But we can also read up on these things and consider that such topics have fascinated many humans for 10s of thousands of years.
Personally, I think most of that stuff, while it is fun to consider, is pretty mellow basic, obvious stuff and so, most of my thoughts on it are; Yes, Indeed, but so what? I am more interested in the new stuff; original thoughts and ideas not yet attributed to dead 10-foot tall humans in our overwritten history books. I sincerely I hope that this article helps propel thought in 2007.
