Are Humans Basically Computer Programs?

Are humans basically organic human programs? For instance or DNA code has us replicate and reproduce? Are human thoughts really those of the individual or are they pre-programmed or come from somewhere else? Recently this topic came up in an Online Think Tank and one member asked the question of another; I assume you dismiss the concept that human thoughts are controlled by the Universe or some other system?

Are humans basically organic human programs? For instance or DNA code has us replicate and reproduce? Are human thoughts really those of the individual or are they pre-programmed or come from somewhere else? Recently this topic came up in an Online Think Tank and one member asked the question of another; I assume you dismiss the concept that human thoughts are controlled by the Universe or some other system?

The answer from the other member was indeed interesting and here is the reply; Not necessarily, it is potentially possible, Isaac Asimov would agree, even Steven Baxter seems to concur this a possibility. In 3001 Arthur C. Clarke considers the future of such. In fact it would appear that many are and extremely basic in a complex sort of way. Is this theory plausible and is it possible that humans cannot control their thoughts? Maybe most humans can't, humans are interesting to study.

Indeed we know that humans are a product of both nature; DNA and Nurture; their sum total of experiences, observations, knowledge and belief systems. It is said that one is 80% genetics and 20% nurture in regards to genius or creative brilliance. This might indeed have an affect on each part of personality, behavior and intelligence. Having read many research papers and several books on this subject this is indeed the academia answer to the question. So in a way humans are programmed thru their DNA and experiences and therefore predictable to a large degree.

If humans are programmed organic computers then they would be completely predictable in every way. But it seems if this is the case one must agree that such an organic computer is not very predictable at all, or is it merely the number of variables, which increase over time in the human life experience. Well, I certainly hope this article provides yet another interesting topic of conversation and propels thought in 2007.
