I decided to lose 10 pounds this summer. and as a part of that effort. mowing the lawn every week would burn up some calories. Besides the exercise. I enjoy seeing a job well done when I am finished. The funny thing is that you end up with more than just a workout from the mowing. Mowing the lawn was going to be a good exercise all by itself; when I added having to move the picnic table each time I mowed. I was really getting a workout. I thought the whole idea was great. My husband stayed inside with our little girl while I mowed. Bonding time for daddy and daughter. I get some exercise and the lawn gets mowed. Perfect! In my first attempt at mowing I was determined to mow everything. Of course. there is grass under the picnic table. so I had to move the table to mow there. Easier said than done. I dragged and pulled and pushed and. almost ten minutes later. it was still in the same place. I stopped to turn off the mower and save gas. but even after I went back to the task of moving this object. I had no success. My husband. of course. was enjoying every minute of this drama from the comfort of our home. My daughter thought it was the funniest thing to watch mommy fight with a table. Well. if I wasn't enjoying myself. at least they were. My solution was remarkably simple after I realized I could not budge this immoveable object. I merely mowed around it. My husband. the expert weed wacker. now follows my path and trims up all the grass I missed. like under picnic tables. If anything came of this lesson. at least I now know that we have a very strong. heavy. well made picnic table. It would take a hurricane to move it. or at least a wind that is stronger than I am.
