Go and participate in 3-5 forums related to your product or the product you are selling.
Created a username that tells something about you, preferably your NAME! Craft a killer signature line and start contributing in the forums.
Remember, the key is to build a reputation AND get them to click on your link. You've to be really clear about what you want them to do after they've clicked on the link.

So the trick is to link to your site for the search term you want to rank for with an 'anchor text' of the keyword
