Many people don't get where they are going because they lack motivation and goals. If we have goals we will be a lot more motivated. I will now share some practical ideas that have not only helped me but others as well. Keep them in mind and they will help you tremendously.

In general, life is 90 percent attitude. It is mostly our reaction to circumstances that make the biggest difference. Try to keep everything in perspective and view things from a distance. Stay focussed and don't overreact. Everyone has days where they don't feel as good or are depressed. It happens at times because we are tired or maybe something bad happened to us. Sometimes we need a break, don't force yourself. We often feel better after a good nights rest.

Patience is often the hardest principle to master and often comes with practice. It is always better to set smaller goals for yourself that add up to one large goal. Ultimately it is always best to keep our large goal in the back of our mind so that we do not feel like we are doing everything for nothing. Think of them often and write them down if you have to. And make sure to keep them realistic. Unrealistic goals lead to discouragement and feelings of being overwhelmed.

Evidence suggests that it often takes 21 days to form a habit. If you can get past this point things will become easier and easier. It will become a way of life and you will start enjoying it. You don't have to incorporate every single change all at once. Start with what you are comfortable with and move from there. The rest will follow naturally.

Another thing that really helps is having a partner, especially while exercising. You will be a lot more motivated this way and you will also be able to talk and share what you are going through. And you will also feel more accountable. Reading motivational material or looking at inspiring pictures or movies also helps. Everyone has an idea of the level of

You may also write your statistics down such as your weight, measurements and also include a photo. When you look at this you will be inspired to work harder and live healthier. When you start seeing results you will be very happy and inspired to do more. Others can't help but see this in you. You will be a walking, living, breathing testimony to healthful living.

It really comes down to how bad you want it. Once you have the desire all it takes is proper knowledge and the application of that knowledge. That is the key to success. You might say to yourself "it will takes 9 months before I start looking good." Well 9 months will eventually come no matter what you do so you might as well start making the right choices now. Then you will have no regrets down the road.
